There are souvenirs coming out for the inauguration of Philippine president-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino are displayed at a store in Manila’s Makati financial district June 29, 2010.
Several memorabilia such as miniature dolls, umbrellas, wristwatches and fans with Aquino’s face will be distributed on Wednesday during his inauguration to attendees at Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park.
According to the media reports from Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday, there are about 81 countries and organizations have confirmed attendance at the inauguration of president-elect Benigno Aquino III and vice president-elect Jejomar Binay today, The DFA said at least 21 states are sending high-level delegations.
Eduardo Maglaya said that “Usually, Presidential Inauguration Day protocol dictates there should not be any other heads.”
Further from him, “We have received a lot of requests from the international community to allow them to attend the inauguration ceremonies,” “Confirmations were easy to secure from those whom we invited.”
There is a total of 110 seats at the Quirino Grandstand have been assigned for diplomats and foreign dignitaries.
The south side seats are for diplomats and foreign dignitaries, the middle seats for Aquino’s family and relatives, and the left side for Binay’s family and relatives.
Some of the guests of President-Elect Noynoy Aquino’s inauguration will be attended by their representatives as:
United States – Ron Kirk.
China – National People’s Congress Vice Chairman Yan Junqi.
Japan – State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Osamu Fujimura and Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara
Spain – Minister of Defense Enrique Mugica, and Jose Eugenio Salarich, director general for foreign policy for Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
Singapore – Foreign Minister George Yong-Boon Yeo, while Minister of State of Foreign Affairs
Saudi Arabia – Dr. Nizar bin Abaid Madani
Brunei Darussalam – Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma
Cambodia – Minister of Information Khieuk Kanharith
Indonesia – Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare H.R. Agung Laksono.
